Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot is a legendary name in the Playstation world and a lot of gamers have come to love the games, myself included. However, the earlier creation of Crash Bandicoot games were fraught with near impossible level designs and obstacles which turned certain gamers off such as the Time Trials in Crash Bandicoot: Warped. To put a fine point on this, you have to be 44:03 for a Platinum Relic which is near impossible to get in Toad Village in Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

Differences between the original and the N. Sane Trilogy

After researching Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, it is without question that the game works on a completely different level that its predecessors. First, the original Crash Bandicoot games were difficult and made many gamers try to improvise to get past obstacles such as in the factory levels of Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. In Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Crash is not only able to get past obstacles, but the level designs have made it possible for gamers to proceed on without having to restart a level a thousand times or die trying to get through.

Also, getting the gems in the first Crash Bandicoot game for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is now a reality. I remember when I played the first Crash Bandicoot game and I kept looking all over the Lab level trying to find the Yellow Gem, it took hours even days; I’m a video game pro and it never takes me long to find anything in a video game so that should give you some idea how complicated the game was. Happily, the creators of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy fixed that.

Swap Heroes

Another handy feature that players can appreciate, and I know I can having played and beat 3 of the 4 games, is that gamers will be able to swap Crash and Coco out instantly. This is handy because there are obstacles that is easier for Coco to pass given her height, and some that Crash can pass because of his experience. The feature makes for great gameplay because it alleviates players from having to rely on one character and give them access to both. Also, it gives gamers an opportunity to get to know both players and inspect their strengths and weaknesses which is a big plus for me.

Same moves but different

Crash has always had his signature spin move which has dispatched many enemies over the years and the Death Tornado Spin that he gets is a fine upgrade to his already awesome move. Coco, karate master supreme, always had her kick and her stomp move which also fell many enemies. Now, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy introduces Coco to the “spin” world. That’s right, Coco has her own spin move similar to Crash. I saw this and I fell in love right away. This makes it easier for Coco to destroy enemies without fear of taking damage because gamers have trouble getting near enemies using her spin kick move.

Time Trials

Many gamers, myself included, who have gotten every platinum relic in Crash Bandicoot: Warped has spoken the following: “Those time trials were ridiculously hard”. Well, I am happy to say that the creators of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy have fixed that, getting Platinum Relics are no longer the nightmare they once were hence making it easier to achieve that goal.

Conclusion

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy have made a lot of changes that make it different, and in a lot of ways, better than its predecessors. Coco having her own spin move is genius because she is now as powerful as Crash himself. Also, the remastered level design have made getting through levels a lot easier which gamers and myself can appreciate. If you don’t have this game yet, get it; you’ll be glad you did.
