Uncharted: Lost Legacy; it's definitely different

Without Nate

Many past Uncharted games had one thing in common, Nathan Drake along with his sidekick, Victor Sullivan. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be the first game that does not have either character in it. This is surprising to me because I've grown used to playing with the gun-toting, historical genius.

Listening to Nate talk about clues and how to get places was simply great, I could listen to him talk about history topics forever; it was part of what made the past games great. I have to admit, it’ll be odd running around the world with two known characters in the game that aren’t Nathan and Sully.

Fun Factor

The Uncharted games of the past were always good about allowing gamers to not only delve in the characters’ lives to share the good and bad times, but was also good about allowing gamers to have fun. A particular reason why I think Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be as good as its predecessors is because it’s going to be fun to play as well.

Running around, solving puzzles (which was no cakewalk and I’m a puzzle solving master), getting into gun fights which was one of the greatest aspects of the game; being able to really get into the action is what Uncharted has always been about.

I remember one time when I was playing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, I was climbing the Himalayan mountains trying to make it to the temple and I remember how I got my hands on the Grenade Launcher; it was one of the best times I ever had in a video game ever which I guess isn’t saying a lot.

I always found being able to switch out guns and pick up new ones along the way was one of the high points of the game, it made me never want to stop playing. All in all, gamers are going to have fun with this game.

Weapons

On the topic of weapons, it is without a doubt that there will be more than a few weapons making a return to the game including the revolver pistol and the Rocket Launcher. One of my favorite aspects of the Uncharted games was the amount of weapons that you could carry at once and pick up on the fly, it wasn’t the fact that you had to hold onto the weapon; it was holding onto it until you did not need it anymore.

I found myself doing that a lot as well in the past games because I didn’t have room to keep a weapon with low ammo, but the weapons were great and will always be the cornerstone of the Uncharted world.

Trusting Nadine Ross

Nadine Ross is making a return in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. As many gamers remember she was the one of the main bosses in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, she made Nate, Sam and Sully’s life a living hell along with her cohort, Rafe. Seeing as how Rafe almost left Nadine to die, it might be hard to trust her on this adventure because she may very well be carrying those scars from when she was betrayed by Rafe along with her own men.

Personally, I don’t believe that Chloe is going to need to watch her back while working with Nadine Ross, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the former do not know what to expect while working with her so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Conclusion

While the previous Uncharted games provided hours of fun and tons of gunplay, it still introduced a lot of elements that made them great such as listening to Nate talk about historical stuff to choosing which weapon you’ll use to blow a hole through the next guy around the corner.

Also, let’s not forget about the oh so wonderful puzzle solving that kept many gamers, myself included, up at night. Despite it all, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy promises to give the gamers a lot of the same and different stuff and a lot more. Get in line on August 22, 2017 to get yours, I know I will.
